Hooters Girl Claims The Company Photoshopped Her Bellybutton

Hooters Girl Claims The Company Photoshopped Her Bellybutton

Hooters are back in the news again, and this time it ain't the shorts

Hooters has been accused of photoshopping an employee's bellybutton piercing away on, as the scandal about what the chain's workers have to wear on their shifts rumbles on. Check it out below.

Weirdly, this time it wasn't anything to do with the shorts that they've been asked to wear as part of a new uniform, which have been described by some employees as 'undies'.

This time, they've unmodified someone's body, which is a strange thing to do, for sure.

The waitress in question identified herself as Sandra, and shared the apparently photoshopped image of herself on TikTok earlier this week.

The Hooters that she works for in Texas had shared the supposedly doctored image on its official Instagram page, but 'WacoHooters' had removed her bellybutton piercing altogether.

The waitress said that she actually doesn't mind the edit, saying that she 'thought it was funny' but she did wonder 'why they photoshopped my bellybutton'.

So, there are a couple of theories.

One person commented: "I think it's because you're not supposed to have piercings when you work there".

Sandra responded to that one to let her know she was 'confused', because apparently Hooters do actually allow employees to have bellybutton piercings.

To be fair, given the rest of the uniform policy, it would be slightly odd if they weren't allowed to.

Another person commented: "At least they didn't photoshop you skinnier because that's definitely what I thought was going on."

Yes, that would have been bad, but this is just bizarre.

Just last week, Hooters were forced to backtrack on uniform changes they'd made after some of their workers described the new shorts as 'undies'.

Hooters said that the girls will be able to decide which shorts they want to wear based on their 'body style and personal image'.

The spokesperson said: "As we continue to listen and update the image of the Hooters Girls, we are clarifying that they have the option to choose from traditional uniforms or the new ones,

"They can determine which style of shorts best fits their body style and personal image."

They added that the shorts were 'the result of a collaboration with Hooters Girls and have been worn for months in several Texas markets with overwhelmingly positive feedback'.

The company said that they appreciate the feedback 'both positive and negative' they've received 'regarding a more accommodating and inclusive image policy on tattoos, jewellery, nails, hairstyles as well as new uniform options - to include new top styles, shorts, and the addition of socks'.

Furthermore, they said that they're planning to work with the Hooters Girls on 'future clothing items and accessories,' and said they are working 'continuously with our Hooters Girls to refresh and update the image of our brand ambassadors and to empower them to feel their best while at work.'
