In case you missed out yesterday, a usually quiet part of Nebraska was transformed into a warzone filled with people beating each other with pool noodles as part of the 'Josh vs Josh vs Josh' fight, or #JoshFight.

What started as a bizarre joke borne out of boredom from Josh Swain, who challenged loads of other people with his name to a scrap at a pre-determined location in the small town of Lincoln, blossomed into something a lot more, and it's ended up doing quite a lot of good for one young boy.

That youngster is four-year-old Josh Vinson Jr. - nicknamed 'Little Josh - who emerged as the shock winner of the fight.

However, Little Josh was also involved in a fight against illness as a younger child, and #JoshFight raised money for the very children's hospital where he was treated for seizures aged two.

That meant that not only did he come out on top in the Battle of the Joshes, but he also helped to raise the cash for the children's hospital that treated him back in the day, which is very fitting.

Who says nothing good ever happens because of the internet?

After being pronounced the winner, Little Josh told local media: "I like fighting."

That much is evidently true.

The whole thing started off as a lockdown joke set up by Josh Swain - more on his status as the true Josh Swain later - who messaged loads of folks with the same name and challenged them to a fight.

He wrote: "You're probably wondering why I've gathered you all here today.

"Precisely, 4/24/2021, 12:00pm, meet at these coordinates (40.82232286 -96.7982002) we fight, whoever wins gets to keep the name, everyone else has to change their name, you have a year to prepare, good luck."

The location was chosen completely at random, and he didn't really expect anyone to turn up, but after excitement picked up over the past week, the decision was taken to throw the contest out to anyone called Josh.

Before the pool noodle battle got underway, there was a 'gruelling and righteous battle of rock, paper, scissors' between organiser Josh Swain - a student from Arizona - and another Josh Swain from Omaha.

That battle was won by the Arizonan Josh Swain, meaning that he is now the true Josh Swain.

It's a bit like Highlander, there can only be one.

Speaking after the pool noodle battle, the one true Josh Swain told reporters: "I did not expect people to be as adamant about this as they are right now."

Well, neither did anyone else, but this is 2021, and this is the internet. We just have to expect these things to happen nowadays.
