New Jersey Man Has Eaten Nothing But Pizza For Four Decades
How much do you like pizza? Well, however much it is, it's not as much as Mike Roman, from Hackensack, New Jersey, likes pizza.
You can stick your house on that being true. Mike hasn't eaten anything for basically the past four decades. Still think you like pizza? Amateurs.
So, how does he do it? You'd think he'd be completely sick of it by now. After about a year you'd think that you'd be sick of the sight of it.
Well, Mike says that he doesn't remember how it started, or why, but he went onto the New Theory podcast to talk to host Tom La Vecchia about it all.
Oh, by the way, that's every day of his life. Like, every day. Since he was four years old.
His wedding day - pizza. His honeymoon, on which he and his wife went to Aruba - pizza.
You'd think it couldn't get any stranger, but it can - he doesn't have any topping on his pizza.
However, he doesn't think this is weird at all.
He said: "I don't know. Dinner to me is nothing really that special."
Well, it's pretty special to everyone else, mate.
Still, you'd think that with this level of expertise, he'd be able to pick out a decent pizza place when he sees one. After all, if it's all you eat you're going to develop some favourites.
You'd be absolutely right.
If you find yourself in the wider New Jersey area, you can hit up one of Mike's best hangouts. He named Kinchley's, Lido's, and Nellie's amongst his favourite places to get a pizza pie.
Apparently, this whole business doesn't just include pizza. He is also incredibly set in his ways with regards to television shows, bands, music, pretty much anything.
He knows what he likes and he likes what he knows, and that's OK, as long as it keeps him happy.
You could say that Mike Roman is just a creature of habit.
You could say that, but that would be a massive understatement. I mean, 40 years is a long time to keep anything up. He also must have a pretty good exercise regime if he is managing to eat exclusively pizza and not balloon to the size of a house.
That said, if anyone would know how to create, make time for, and stick to an extensive programme of physical exercise, you'd have to imagine it would be Mike Roman.
Fair play to him.
