People Baffled By Pigeon That Seems To Have Gigantic Feet

People online have been baffled after seeing a video that appears to show a pigeon that has massive flappy feet.

Of course, it probably doesn't, but that hasn't stopped the folks on the internet speculating about what it could possibly be.

The bizarre video shows a pigeon walking about on a rooftop while the residents of a nearby house film it through the window.

They were obviously filming it because it appears to have comically large feet, rather than the smaller and spindlier ones that pigeons are known for.

You can see why they might have thought that it actually did have incredibly huge feet, but it's more likely that the pigeon is just one of a specific kind that has feathers around their feet creating the illusion.

The initial video was shared on TikTok - where else? - by user @ge0_2001 who posted it with the caption: "Pigeon do be having size 18 feet".

He's got a point, if you weren't some sort of pigeon expert - and who has the time for that level of training these days? - you would simply assume that it has feet like a Looney Tunes character, or a football mascot.

Whatever the deal is, the bird looks hilarious waddling about with seemingly gigantic feet.

Furthermore, rather than being pigeon-toed, the condition named after the birds whereby feet point inwards towards each other, the bird's feet appear to be splayed outwards, increasing the silliness of the waddle.

This video has since been watched more than 50,000 times - well, there's not a lot else on at the minute, is there? - and received thousands of comments, mostly from people taking the mickey out of the poor thing.

Of course, it can't read, because it's a pigeon, but it still feels like an easy target.

One person commented: "You hear him before you see him."

Another said: "At first I thought it was a bird and then I saw the feet and thought it was a seal on a boat launch then realised it's actually a bird with big feet?"

A third joked: "He doesn't walk he slaps the floor."

However, someone with some avian knowledge piped up to confirm that it's probably just a breed of pigeon with feet feathers.

They said: "It's a breed of pigeon they have feathers on their feet."

That clears that up.

Another pigeon fancier wrote: "I own three pigeons like this! They are big feathers that grow on their feet and legs."

Whilst many pigeons have scaly feet rather than feathers, some birds have longer feathers called 'muffs' on their legs.
