Thai Man ‘Returns From The Dead’ After Being Cremated By His Family

He was minding his own business on a fishing boat in Southern Thailand whilst his family were busy cremating and mourning his death.

Losing a loved one is tough. Most families just want closure after the sudden death of a family member, and the funeral service usually gives them that.

Whilst certain UK councils are making plans to start liquefying corpses instead, a large amount of people worldwide get cremated - which is usually the last that we hear from them.

This is where Sakorn Sachiwa comes in. See, his family were pretty sure that he'd been cremated. That is, until he walked back into his family's home nearly seven months later.

After a body was found in his rented flat in Bangkok the Thai police told his family that he had died from a digestive disease.

His relatives were told that they would have to travel to the capital city from their home province of Sisaket, in the north east.

Mr Sachiwa's cousin first thought something smelt fishy when he noticed that the corpse's teeth didn't match up with the missing teeth that Mr Sachiwa has.

They took the body away anyway, and performed Buddhist religious rites on it, before it was cremated and the ashes scattered on a burial mound.

Quite whose body they burnt and scattered is not known, but it sure as hell wasn't Sakorn.

He was away working on a fishing boat in southern Thailand and had had his ID card stolen by another worker.

He then tipped back up and was more than a little surprised to learn that everyone thought he was dead.

Though, he probably wasn't as surprised as everyone else was to see a man they thought they'd burnt walk through the front door.

Apparently his family repeatedly touched him to ensure that he wasn't a ghost. As you do.

He told Thai TV station PBS: "I was so confused. My mother said, 'You're dead. How can you come back?' I lost all my energy at that point,"

Don't blame you mate, it sounds like someone's made a right mess of this somewhere along the line.

As you might expect, Sakorn now wants the official records changed back so that he can officially come back to life.

There is also the need to reopen the case as to who the bloody hell was found dead from a digestive disease in his flat.

Problematically, they've already burnt and scattered about the best piece of evidence they were ever likely to get.
