Woman Accuses Black Man Of Stealing Her Phone When It Was In Her Bag

Woman Accuses Black Man Of Stealing Her Phone When It Was In Her Bag

The man hadn't taken her phone, because it was in her purse the whole time

A woman has been accused of being racist after she assumed that a black man had stolen her mobile phone before it turned out to be in her pocket. You can see the whole bizarre exchange take place in the video below.

The footage was later shared to TikTok on Monday, where many have goggled in astonishment at the woman accusing the man of having nicked her phone, even going so far as to suggest that he might have put it on silent, before it then turned up inside her purse.

The incident is thought to have taken place at the Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, near to the Californian city of Sacramento.

The action unfolded outside a Spencer’s store at the mall, and started when the woman asked: “Can you call it, because she won’t let us call it?”

A Spencer’s worker responds: “Yeah, what’s the phone number?”

As the woman started to reel off her phone number, she then accused the man – who we have to presume was just passing by – of hiding her phone after having allegedly stolen it.

“Well, he could’ve turned off the ringer”, she hypothesised.

The woman alongside the accused man had clearly had enough by this point.

“Oh my God!” she shouted.

“What, do you want him to get f***ing naked, lady?”

The woman then pleaded: “I really need my phone back”.

At this point – after some calm was restored – the man then emptied out his pockets to reveal that there was no phone in there.

“I just stuck it right here, you walked right behind me and you took it,” she further accused him.

“I did not take it,” he hit back.

Then, the moment of clarity arrived.

The employee managed to get the woman to call the mobile from his phone, and – shock horror – it materialised right there in her purse.

“Is it in your purse, ma’am?”, the woman asked.

“I am sorry, I apologise”, the embarrassed customer responded.

“F*** off, no you’re not”, the accused man’s companion then said.

The clip was later uploaded to social media, and the man appears to have commented underneath, writing that ‘the whole situation was funny to me’.

One person commented: She didn’t wanna call her phone because she saw it in her bag and knew you were recording,”

Another said: “Accused of stealing and being told to calm down, I would’ve been so triggered,”

Thankfully, the whole situation ended up without any serious incident, but don’t go around accusing people of this sort of thing unless you actually have the facts.
