Woman Furious As ATM Shuts Down As She Deposited Hundreds Of Dollars In Cash

She filmed as error messages popped up on the screen, before the ATM machine appeared to shut down and reboot

TikTok user has detailed the drama she faced after an ATM machine crashed when she deposited hundreds of dollars in cash – also swallowing up her debit card.

TikToker Em (@em.grace19) posted a video that showed the moment she realised something was up with the ATM, saying to the camera: “Um, I just put over $300 dollars in this f***ing machine... Is this a f***ing joke?”

She filmed the machine as error messages flashed up on screen, before it shut down and rebooted itself.

Despite the fact that it was one o’clock in the morning, Em – who had just finished work – had no choice but to sit in the car as the ATM machine told her: “Please wait while we load the application.”

While she waited, she explained how she had only just switched to Regions Bank, the bank she was attempting to deposit the cash to.

Eventually, she heard the machine making a noise, and she excitedly said: “Come on, baby!”

However, a message then popped up that said: “We apologize, this machine is currently unavailable. Thank you.”

After a couple of days, Em said she’d received an email from Regions Bank, but still hadn’t received the money – although explained the bank had sent her a new debit card ‘the morning after’.

“So I've been able to access the money that I do have in my account,” she said.

“But I don’t have the money that I’m missing, and the only contact that I’ve gotten from Regions is that email. So I am just waiting.”

In a later update to the ‘Regions ATM saga’, she told followers: “After days of waiting, I finally found something in my account.”

She showed a screengrab of her transactions, showing that $350 had been put into her account.

Em continued: “So I have my money back. I wasn’t sure if it was $350 on the dot – honestly, I was low-balling it. So I’m just grateful they did give me that amount.”

In a statement from Regions Bank, a spokesperson said what happened to Em was ‘rare’, but said sorry for the incident.

They told LADbible: “We sincerely apologize for the issue experienced back in October at this ATM, and our teams worked to quickly review and confirm information so we could provide a refund.

“Regions operates approximately 2,000 ATMs in 15 states, and what happened here is quite rare.

"We take great pride in offering convenient financial services around the clock, and we regret that in this instance, an issue with the machine stood in the way of the positive customer experience we strive to consistently deliver.”
