Rhino Approaches Cameraman And... Asks For A Belly Rub

Rhino Approaches Cameraman And... Asks For A Belly Rub

Clever girl!

If a Rhino approaches you in the wild, you'd not be mistaken for trying to find an escape route. The huge, solid, built machines of an animal could easily take a human out if they wanted.

But it seems they also have a softer side, and enjoy a good belly rub like the rest of us. Well, who doesn't?

Garth de Bruno Austin is a South African cameraman, who is supposedly very friendly with the animals that he films.

Whilst he was filming something completely different, the female Rhino approached him and demanded he rubbed her underside.

Maybe she was desperate for attention.

Austin said, of his relationship with the animals: "I have been lucky enough to film this rhino for quite a few years... and because of that have built up a level of trust.

"I did not approach this animal; it was completely her decision to let me come into her personal space and touch her. Once she had enough, she walked away and continued grazing."

Of course, it's not something you should do - should you ever find yourself face-to-face with the beast.

"Do this with a truly wild rhino...it may end up with you being killed," Austin said.

The rhino is safe, and has been dehorned to help deter any poachers.

It comes after some pure dickheads killed a rhino in a French safari park and cut off its horn with a chainsaw last week.

Maybe the rhinos need to take a lesson from a group of Indian elephants who trampled ivory-hunting poachers to death in Kerala recently.

One man was killed, while one is in critical care, and there were two survivors who were only busted when they accidentally blabbed to friends and families.

The usually peaceful creatures were thought to be sleeping when the attack took place and, with their clever ability, realised they were under threat.

Serves them right!
