Competing on the world stage at the Olympic Games is hungry work. We've already heard that Olympic legend Michael Phelps eats 10,000 calories a day, but what about when the work is done and competition has come to a close?

Australian badminton player Sawan Serasinghe recently ended his Rio Olympics campaign with a loss to Chinese Taipei on Saturday. Instead of burying his head in his hands in disappointment though, the athlete decided to bury it in junk food.

Having eaten clean for months prior to the Games, the badminton athlete was ready to let it all go while coming to terms with his defeat in Rio.

Serasinghe posted the picture on Facebook showing him surrounded by four packs of chicken nuggets, six burgers, six portions of French fries and six cakes.

"Wow what a week it has been in Rio," the athlete's caption read. "Can't wait to get back home to start training and keep on improving.

"Now it's time to eat some junk food after months of eating clean!"

Considering McDonalds is given away for free in the Olympic village, I imagine it would be similar scenes to letting a hyperactive kid loose in a sweet shop.
