Blasting groups of people with water has always been used as a crowd-dispersing method by police, often when not necessary.

At a pride parade in Taksim Square, Turkey though, when police tried to interrupt the event with water cannons they effectively got karma'd.

According to The Independent, Turkish police used water cannon trucks and rubber pellets on those gathered in the centre of Istanbul, despite the parade having taken place peacefully the year before.

Hurriyet Daily also reported that some people were sadly injured by the cannons, however, one person managed to snap an amazing photo of one of the jets creating a rainbow.

The image was originally taken in June 2015, but is making the rounds online once again.

The image CANNOT be verified, so there is a slight possibility it has been Photoshopped, but the photo has been shared numerous times in Turkey.

The Independent stated that the image had been viewed over 1.5 million times worldwide.

"Police reacts with water cannons. Karma reacts with rainbow." Ozhan Zurel tweeted.

AFP have said that police only got involved when members of the parade started shouting slurs against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
