We all know what we should be doing to live a long and healthy life: exercise, eat more fruit and vegetables, quit smoking and knock alcohol on the head.
Mildred Bowers, who goes by the name Millie, is set to celebrate her 103rd birthday on the August 31 and she credits her long-life to having a nice cold pint every day.
She told NBC that she had a beer every day, under 'doctor's orders', after she told nurses in her care home how much she loved beer. The doctor had no problems approving her wish, because, let's face it, it's obviously working for her and she has a pint every day at 4pm.
She also said that other elderly people should do the same, if they like beer - 'I want everyone to drink what they like', she said.
Millie isn't the first 100-year-old to credit the sesh for her long life. Agnes Fenton is 111 and she said she made it to that age by drinking three Miller High Life beers and a shot of Johnnie Walker Blue Label every day since turning 50, which is definitely a healthy-living plan I can get behind.
