Mariah Carey's NYE Performance Is A Metaphorical Representation of 2016

Fail of 2016.

Mariah Carey had a very poor end to the year, it's fair to say. All she'll want for next year's Christmas is to forget it ever happened.

During ABC's live telecast on the Times Square stage, she completely fluffed her lines and seemed to forget whatever she was trying to sing/mime, but not before being brought on stage by her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka.

Take a look at the catastrophe here...

Apparently the wrong lip-synced track came on (why is any track lip-synced)? and she repeatedly asked for the monitors to be turned on. I'm not a singer so I don't really know what that means.

At one point, she said: "Trying to be a good sport here," but eventually she appeared flustered and agitated on her two song set, before eventually walking off the stage in a huff.

She also stated: "We didn't have a check for this song... we're missing some of the vocals, but it is what it is. I'm just going to let the audience sing. We didn't have a sound check for this New Year's baby, it is what it is."

Of course, Twitter had its say...

A great way to round off a shitstorm of a year.
