Dumb Passenger Jumps Off Boarding Bridge And Runs Across Tarmac To Catch Plane
Some people are dumb, some people are incredibly dumb, and some people are even dumber than that. I'll leave it up to you to decide which category this lad falls into, but I'm going to put my cards on the table right now and say I think it's the last one.
Why? Well this Ryanair passenger ran onto the tarmac at a major airport to try and catch his flight after he missed the plane's final boarding call.
Breaking through security he managed to get past staff at the gate and jumped off the jet bridge with two bags in his hands - landing on the tarmac eight to 10ft below.
What a bloody idiot. Video credit: Facebook
The Boeing 737 he was hoping to board had already pulled back from the terminal - but the lad didn't think about giving up.
He then sprinted across to the plane to try and stop it from taking off without him, but was intercepted by ground crew members at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, the largest in Madrid.
The video of the incident was filmed by a ground crew member at the airport and posted onto Facebook by the Workers' Commissions trade union.
Some have suggested that the man should be charged by Spanish police and banned from flying, while others have criticised security at the airport.
One commenter wrote: "This guy should have been arrested by the security forces and identified so he cannot only travel with [Ryanair] but any airline."
Another put: "It's not the fault of the passenger who bypassed the security controls. It is the responsibility of those in charge of the controls."
A Ryanair spokesman called it a 'security breach', but deferred comment to airport police.
Here's my personal comment: what a stupid twat.
