An 18-year-old woman who had escaped from an Australian correction centre asked the police to change her mug shot for a 'more flattering' image after it was posted to Facebook.

Amy Sharp commented on a post made by 7 News Sydney. The post explained that she was being hunted by police after leaving corrective services.

The police statement alerting the public to her escape used two images of the Australia escapee, with her face wearing a glum expression and a red blanket over her shoulders.

Amy asked them to please use a better picture of her in the comment section and even provided a picture for them to use.

Her comment has been liked over 60,000 times since it was posted.

Local media has reported that she has since been arrested.

7 News Sydney said: "[She] was arrested just after midnight. Found by police in Wentworth Park. Local police assisted by the Police Order & Riot Squad. Expected to be charged today."

To be fair we've all detagged bad photos on Facebook, so I get where she was coming from, but maybe it wasn't the smartest move considering police were searching for her.
