Let's just say the cops weren't impressed.

What is it with people and phoning the police for stupid reasons? A few years back someone called the police after they found a spider in their bath.

There has been reports of people calling the emergency services because they've no credit left to call anyone else. Someone even called them because their Chinese hadn't arrived on time.

The latest example of someone wasting police time? A man calling the police to complain about an ice cream van he thought was 'too loud'.

The bloke dialled 101 because he felt the chimes were 'disturbing the peace'. He begins the call by saying: "Hello, I've got a query about an ice cream van. His chimes are far too loud, they go right through the building. Is there a certain decibel they should be?"

The operator quickly responds that the police have better things to deal with and if it's such a big deal he should contact his local council.

In a Twitter post, West Midlands Police wrote: "The chimes from the ice cream van too loud? That's not appropriate to call 101 about!"

Which is fair enough, isn't it?
