Little Lad With Autism Meets His Service Dog For The First Time

These two are already best pals.

I hope you're ready for all the feels, because this is adorable.

A mum has shared the moment her five-year-old autistic son met his service dog for the first time and it's amazing.

Shanna Niehaus' son has autism and wouldn't let anyone hug or touch him, meaning that he struggled to make friendships and form connections with others.

The family requested a service dog to help the little lad be more social and after a two-year wait they got one - his name is Tornado. Despite not liking people touching him, he seems more than happy to snuggle up with the dog, which makes perfect sense to me.

Here they are together:

Alongside the photo, Shanna wrote: "This picture captures the face of a mother who saw her child, who she can't hug, wash, dress, snuggle and touch freely, lay on his new service dog of his own free will, with a purposeful, unspoken attachment."

The post attracted lots of attention on social media and has been shared 217,500 times.

Aren't dogs the best?
