Two families are in mourning after a car crash on Friday in Limerick, Ireland killed two teenagers.

Delia Keary, 18, was riding in the front passenger seat of a car with her boyfriend Gary Kelly, 19, when their vehicle collided with a truck on a road near the south-western town of Abbeyfeale.

Gary, who was driving the jeep, was killed instantly on impact. Delia was rushed to University Hospital Limerick, but she later tragically died from her injuries.

Friends of the young couple paid tribute to the 'teenage sweethearts' on social media.

One friend of Gary's wrote: "Rest in peace Gary Kelly my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time, God took you too soon, you still had your whole life to live but he gained a beautiful soul who was always smiling."
