A Texas dog-owner, who promised her pooch one last day in the snow, hired a machine to create a blizzard, Inside Edition has reported.
Last week Ashley Niels' 12-year-old husky-German shepherd-chow mix, Spunky, was diagnosed with a form of cancer that cannot be treated.
She had adopted him from a local shelter when he was only a puppy.

Although vets informed her that he should be put down sooner rather than later, to avoid suffering, his owner gave him one last treat.
"He could spend hours in snow drifts and be just fine," Ashley said. "He loved it. The colder it is, the happier he is. Unfortunately, Texas couldn't give that to him."
When she heard the news of his cancer, she scheduled Spunky's appointment to have him put to sleep the next day.
When Ashley's friends learned that she wanted to give the dog one last day in the snow, they rented a snow machine to help make the wish come true.

She then hugged her pet in their front yard as snow fell around them.
Niels told Inside Edition: "I think he could see how excited I was, so he thought it was pretty cool. I think he felt all the love we were trying to show him."
The appointment with the vet the next day ended up cancelled, so Spunky is yet to be put down. She can only hope their final days together will be as magical as those they shared together in the snow.
