Originally released in 1990 the a film adaptation of the 1986 non-fiction book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scorsese.

Many regard it as Scorsese greatest film, with Rotten Tomatoes reporting that 96% of 76 surveyed critics gave it a positive review, which isn't really a surprise.

Film critic Roger Ebert also held it in high-esteem, he named Goodfellas the "best mob movie ever" and placed it among the best films of the 1990s.

Definitely gonna reserve my ticket in the new year.
