Here's What The Guy Who Voiced Pingu Looks Like

Prepare to have your childhood ruined.

Have you ever thought about the people who voiced your favourite characters from childhood? It can't just be me who lies awake at night wondering what the man who voices Doug Funny actually looked like. Or maybe it is. Anyway, I've stopped Googling it, because, it just makes me feel weird.

Pingu, for example, he was cute as, wasn't he? I loved watching him 'noot noot' his way across the screen and throwing his tantrums when he didn't get his own way, the spoilt little bastard.

Pingu, which won a fucking BAFTA somehow, ran from 1986 to 2006 and was entirely voiced by this Italian guy called Carlo Bonami until 2000. Now, obviously, I knew Pingu wasn't voiced by an actual penguin, but I wasn't expecting this.

That bit where he's laughing manically, not a bit sinister that, is it?

Carlo even invented his own penguin language for the characters to use, which is dedication to his art. His noble art of plasticine penguin voicing.

This is just weird. I haven't felt like this since I found out that Bart Simpson was voiced by a middle-aged woman who believes in Scientology.
