Is This The Most Awkward 'First Dates' Moment Ever?

Is This The Most Awkward 'First Dates' Moment Ever?

Yes, it probably is.

I've had some awkward dates in my times: the time I took a girl to the pub only for her to throw up from the smell; the one who maintained an American accent throughout the night despite hailing from Barnsley; the stand-up who kept challenging me to prove I write for LADbible by downing pints - each one a shit-storm in its own way.

But none have been quite at bad as one bloke had on yesterday's First Dates.

He was forced to endure a tedious story about origins of the 'negroni' cocktail', which his date followed it up with odd remarks about his race and religion.

Watch exactly what he had to say here...

Looks like one of those where you wait until they go to the toilet and make a sharpish exist to me.

The show's had it's fair share of cringey moments over the years.

According to psychologists, we have just seven seconds to make a good impression, and you only get one shot.

Molly, a 19-year-old bricklayer, was looking for love on the show and she didn't get the best first impression of the fella she was setup with:

Molly has two major no-nos when it comes to finding a partner: shoes that point up at the front and no slippers. Apparently she's big on footwear.

Molly was matched with Hussein, who was full of confidence. He bounced straight in for a cuddle, before Molly stops him to shake his hand, which could be awkward, but Hussein manages to style it out and still gets a hug.

So far, so good for Hussein. Until Molly spotted his shoes. And yet another potential relationship bit the dust.

The first but not the last - Russell, for instance, made prat of himself when he had too many bevvies on a date with comedian, Kelly.

Russell initially asked her what she does, when she replied 'stand-up comedian' he said: "That's not a fucking job."

He then followed it up with this:

He says: "For a comedian you look hot. Female stand up comedians... they're not usually that attractive.

"They're quite fat. Men are usually funnier.

"What's your comedy like? Cos right now it's been quite shit. That's a joke."

Looks like that one's not going to work out either.
