I'm not going to bother pretending, I didn't even know Miss Universe was still a thing until last year when Steve Harvey announced the wrong winner. Do you remember?
The slip up caused a bit of outrage after Steve announced that Miss Colombia was the winner, when in actual fact it was Pia Wurtzbach from the Philippines who was awarded the title.
Poor Ariadna Guitierrez from Colombia was seen holding back tears as she had the crown removed from her head and then given to Pia.
It was the most awkward thing ever.

Steve got a LOT of stick online and poor Pia was also the victim of a fair amount of hate, too, with people claiming that she didn't handle the situation well. Some of the other contestants even blamed Pia afterwards, saying it was her fault.
Well, fast forward one year and Steve is back, surrounded by beautiful women at this year's Miss Universe competition.
Last year's winner Ariadna Pia was there, to hand over her crown to this year's winner, and she decided to troll Steve a bit.

She waltzed on stage towards the host and handed him a pair of reading glasses. Burn.
Steve laughed the gesture saying: "A year late, but thank you."

She then sarcastically added: "Steve I never got to thank you, but thank you for making me the most popular Miss Universe,"
To which he responded by thanking Pia for making him the 'most famous host of Miss Universe.' Well, yeah, I can't argue with him on that.
I'm just really surprised he was even invited back to be host this year. I mean, look at this photograph of the card from last year:

Not exactly rocket science, is it, Steve?
Anyway, he did get it right. Miss France, Iris Mittenaere was announced the winner and she was the winner; so delighted with being able to read two words off a bit of card Steve said: "I'm Steve Harvey and I got it right!"
Well done, mate.
