The Chase Provides Another Hilarious Moment Ahead Of Show's Month-Long Hiatus

The Chase Provides Another Hilarious Moment Ahead Of Show's Month-Long Hiatus

What will we do without Bradley's 5pm banter?

Excuse me whilst I take a moment to compose myself.

See, it's only a few days until The Chase will be pulled from its usual 5 o'clock slot on ITV. What's more, taking its place will be a show hosted by former X Factor contestant Rylan - as I've said before, it's a double-whammy of shit news.

Now, as much as I want to talk about yesterday's amusing moment - one of the many amusing moments the show has provided to us down the years - merely thinking about the show feels bittersweet. I know it will soon be gone and dinner time will not be the same.

Rylan's show Babushka will begin a month-long, 20-episode run in its place from 1 May. The show will see contestants using their knowledge to search through 10 giant Russian 'babushka' dolls, in a bid to win a huge cash prize.

That might end up proving entertaining, sure, but will it fill the quiz-shaped hole in nation's heart left by The Chase? I very much doubt it.

Will Rylan, for instance, break out into hysterics like Bradley Walsh did last night and provide the viewing public with many, many laughs? I'm going to say no.

In the episode, a contestant called Barbara gave a particularly funny answer to a question, with Bradley convinced she was wrong.

The question was: "Which suitably-named actress plays Pip Archer in the countryside radio drama The Archers?"

Ol' Bradley read out the possible answers: "Heather Fox, Rose Squirrel and Daisy Badger."

As he said 'Daisy Badger' he couldn't contain his laughter. The name was too funny for him to say without cracking up..

"I don't know why that makes me laugh!" he said, unable to explain himself.

But when Barbara went ahead and chose the funny name as her answer he was in another world of hilarity.

"Why did you put Daisy Badger? It's not going to be badger... It will be Heather Fox, one of the Fox family, like Emelia Fox," he said.

But it actually was the correct answer.

"That's a terrific name!" he joked, realising he was wrong.

Whoever is responsible for the show's May hiatus is nothing short of a monster.
