Food snobs will probably tell you that British food doesn't compare to the meals you'll find on the continent, but show me a cup of coffee and a croissant and I'll show you a cup of tea, baked beans, sausage and an egg.
That said, you've got to think that anyone who was never brought up here could have a struggle on their hands cooking the food we consider par for the course .

No Jack, you cannot remove a singular item from a fry-up and critique it without looking at the whole. I'm sorry, you just can't mate. It was a terrible attempt, but at least she tried.
