It's hard to imagine a worse situation than your boiler breaking down as a massive snowstorm is expected to hit your town, especially a day after you brought your newborn baby home from hospital.

But that's exactly what happened to Maria and Jesse Hulscher, from Minnesota, USA after Maria gave birth to the couple's second child, Adler, on 22 February.

Naturally they called a local repairman, asking Magnuson Sheet Metal if they could send someone over fast to sort out the problem.

Luckily company manager Craig quickly dispensed one of his repairmen and the Huslcher's boiler was fixed within the hour.

A few days they receive an invoice from Magnuson, with the parents expecting a hefty bill. However, when they read the receipt, the couple couldn't believe their eyes.

A note underneath the repairs carried out read: "No charge - take care of the new baby."

Company manager Craig told Fox 9 News he did the job for free to say congrats on the birth of their son.

He admitted he "didn't know if it was a boy or a girl, if I should buy pink or blue," so thought, "let's get the child heat - how does that sound?"

Astounded by his generosity, Jesse shared the note on his Facebook page.

He wrote: "Can't thank them enough for the great service, speedy response time and amazing technicians.

"Businesses like this earn customers for life!

"Thank you Craig and your staff for the amazing experience!

"We will definitely be calling on your services again... just hopefully not too soon from now!"

The social media post received nearly 2,000 comment and likes, with many sating well done to Craig and his company on their act of kindness.

One wrote: "There are still angels in the world ready to do a good deed instead of being selfish and greedy."

Another commented: "I've had a similar experience working with Craig and the Magnuson Team!

"They always went above and beyond for me."

What a fantastic story, it's great to know that there's still some good in the world.

Congratulations on your new baby as well Maria and Jesse Hulscher!
