Lad Overcomes Effects Of Cerebral Palsy To Walk At High School Graduation Ceremony

What a legend.

For those of us who half-arsed high school, it was pretty hard to understand how the grafters did it. Personally it was an effort to drag myself into school, let alone do all the homework and revision the teachers were always on about.

But a lad in America puts even the biggest swots to shame in the amount of effort he put into his education and making his graduation a night to remember.

Micah McDade was born with cerebral palsy and moves in a wheelchair. However, not only did he complete his studies, he also completed rehabilitation that allowed him to walk for the first time to collect his diploma.

Here's a video of it here...

Cerebral palsy is an umbrella term referring to medical disorders affecting a person's ability to move. It is caused by damage to the developing brain either during pregnancy or shortly after birth.

After having muscle reconstructive surgery, Micah spent the 5 months leading up to graduation undergoing grueling physical therapy.

Unsure if he would be able to do it he didn't let his classmates know about his plan.

But when they clocked what he was about to do his classmates in the audience lent him their support by cheering him on and giving him a massive round of applause.

Micah said he was proud of what he had achieved, saying: "I wasn't nervous, but my adrenaline was pumping. I just focused on walking."

Fair play to him, what a legend.
