What a hellraiser.

Rock'n'roll hell-raiser Ed Sheeran has been given a telling off by the police after singing about speeding at 90mph.

The 25-year-old architect of mild acoustic-pop released new track 'Castle on the Hill' earlier this week, which includes the lyrics "driving at 90 down those country lanes."

The lyrics come about 50 seconds into this clip...

But after listening to the song, Sergeant Chris Harris, who works for Norfolk & Suffolk's Roads Policing Unit, took to Twitter to jokingly instruct the star to "slow down."

Directly tagging the ginger singer in his message, he wrote: "#DriveToArrive @edsheeran Know you want to get home but please slow down on #SuffolkRoads #WelcomeBackEd #DrivingAt90 #CastleOnTheHill".

The full chorus lyrics are: "I'm on my way, driving at 90 down those country lanes.

"Singing to Tiny Dancer.

"And I miss the way you make me feel, and it's real.

"We watched the sunset over the castle on the hill."

Truly beautiful words those. Heart-emoji.
