Capitalism, it's great isn't it? It might have even convinced you that the most exciting thing in the build up to Christmas is a two-minute video clip designed and created purely for the purpose of making you buy shit for people that they probably don't want or need, out of a 'festive' sense of obligation.

But, yeah, the John Lewis advert, good that isn't it? So good that lots of you excited people were convinced a video made by a sixth-former was the real McCoy, instead of a fake. In reality it was just a piece of A-Level coursework he had done.

But what next is in store for the teenager who managed to fool a nation? Well, turns out, there's a happy ending following the video racking up hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and Nick even appearing on Good Morning Britain.

W Communications has reached out to Nick and offered him a job, which would make him the youngest employee ever at the PR company.

Director of the agency, Sophie Raine, told Mirror Celeb: "Advertising agencies are paid billions by brands to try and replicate exactly what Nick, aged 17, has managed to do with his fake John Lewis ad.

"It was a no brainer to create a bespoke role for him within our digital content team! We spoke to Nick this morning, who told us the last 24 hours has been 'absolutely crazy'.

"He was both excited and overwhelmed by our proposition and we are arranging a meeting for later in the week. We look for people from all walks of life, all backgrounds, all ages and all levels of education. Our requirement being merely raw talent, boundless enthusiasm and hard work - attributes Nick clearly possesses.

"Nick understands our offer is open to him either now or when he finishes university."

Well done Nick, you tricked an entire nation and landed yourself a job in the process. Bet you're the toast of the sixth form common room.
