Obama Has Revealed The Advice He's Been Giving Trump

Good lad.

As I was coming towards the end of university I realised I was in desperate need of a job. I managed to blag myself a trial shift at Wetherspoons after I passed the interview because my CV said I had loads of bar experience. The reality was I had none.

It was all going well, "what can go wrong," I thought, "pulling pints is a piece of piss."

It's not.

Needless to say, when they got behind the bar I pulled plenty of pint that had more head than South Park's Mr Mackey M'kay. And I wasn't offered the job.

With virtually no political experience, this is essentially what Trump has done to become president-elect of most powerful country on earth.

Obviously he's in need of some advice to help him along his way, and who better than Barack Obama to be the man in his ear.

In an interview at the White House with Trevor Noah, Obama revealed some of the stuff he's been telling The Donald.

On climate change, for instance, the President-Elect has a completely opposing view to Obama.

Speaking on The Daily Show, President Obama said: "I've had several conversations with the president-elect in which I've said to him: Look, if you can find different approaches to deal with the problems, I don't pretend that I was the repository of all wisdom, but what you can't do is pretend they're not problems."

Trump has previous said climate change is a hoax perpetuated by China, however Obama said he had warned the president-elect of the dangers of sweeping environmental issues under the carpet. He even used the flooding of one of Trump's golf courses as an example of how climate change was affecting him directly.

He said: "So if the oceans are going up and some streets of Miami - a mile or two from where the president-elect has a golf course - are seeing flooding in the middle of sunny days, and it's salt water coming up through the ground, that's still going to have to be dealt with one way or another.

"They may change policy on climate change - but climate change is still climate change. Reality doesn't go away."

Obama also let him know that some of the first discoveries any fresh-faced president makes are that: "a) Reality doesn't go away and b) Federal government is an aircraft carrier, not a speedboat - turning it is hard"

Obama covered a number of other topics on the show, including his experience of being African America. He also said he will continue watching how the country is being run with a close eye.
