Last night I got my first of the new fivers and I sat there in the pub for a good few minutes trying to rip it up to no avail. I even got my teeth involved at one point. Looking back, my mates probably thought I was going nuts. But there we go.
Anyway, because I'm not a James Bond villain, there was no chance of me discovering what scientist Steve Mould has discovered about the recently released 'Churchill fiver'.
Apparently, if you shine a laser through the transparent Queen's head, with the cash held in front of a wall, a 'triangular star field' appears behind.
Watch a video explaining what happens here...

In the clip, Steve contemplates whether the dot pattern is a deliberate security feature or not, as it is with some foreign currency. He also says that the star system comes due to a triangular grid of dots.

When projected onto a wall they look sick.
