David Beckham's had a pretty good 2016, all things considered. He might have retired from professional football, but he has managed to earn a massive £71,000 a day this year, which is more than most people earn in the entire year.

He earned this through his new company Seven Global LLP, which managed to make £8.6 million of profit in only seven months of operation.

A source told The Sun: "There is no stopping Brand Beckham. Even though he has long retired from football, David's empire keeps on growing.

"He is a savvy businessman and surrounds himself with like-minded people. The latest figures are staggering but it's no real surprise."

A total of £3.8 million was paid to Beckham's DB Ventures and lifestyle company Global Brands Group Holding Limited, with the money thought to come from his successful collaboration with brands such as clothing retailer H&M.

Elsewhere, David also received £11.4 million in profit at his Footwork Productions company, which manages the use of his name and image.

Overall, Golden Balls is reportedly worth £280 million as of the end of this year.

He might have all that money, but going into the festive period he still has to deal with the same problems as we all do, including those Christmas hangovers.

Beckham's personal cure is a hand-me-down from his Granddad. He told GQ that his hangover cure is to take an Alka Seltzer tablet before bed, and then eat a bacon sandwich as soon as he wakes up.

Fair play lad, you've got millions in the bank but you still love tucking into a butty.
