Were These Two Families Kicked Off A Jetstar Flight For No Reason?

Straight outta nowhere.

Last Tuesday, two families were kicked off a Jetstar flight from Bali to Adelaide because the two fathers were not seated with their families - seems like a silly reason, right?

Jetstar has said that the two men sat in other people's seats and refused to move and both families had to be kicked off.

Jetstar maintains that the two men were rude to the air hostesses.

But Vincent Bamworth filmed the exchange and claims that Jetstar overreacted and that no one had been rude at all. He said that the two men merely questioned why they couldn't sit next to their families. Take a look at his video footage here.

Vincent was put out that the two families had to leave the flight - it would take an hour to get the families' baggage off the plane. "We should all get off!" he grumbled.

"This was Jetstar's problem, not anyone else's," he said, adding that he would be posting the video to Jetstar's Facebook page. "Handled very unprofessionally. Absolute disgrace."

Other passengers were on the side of the two families, too.

Elena Della Foresta Scamoni, said: "I was on that flight and the flight attendant overreacted. They didn't refuse to sit like Jetstar say they just questioned why the seats were the way they were and they couldn't sit alongside their family.

"The young flight attendant overreacted. No one was rude to her, they merely discussed this between each other. Jetstar didn't even let the two families explain the story. The families were shocked [and] the attendant was upset.

"To kick two families off with young children was disgusting and completely unnecessary. They were no way [sic] abusive or rude.

"Jetstar should be ashamed of themselves for doing such a thing to families with young children. It was completely out of line."

Jetstar still maintains the families were unruly and has said: "We had customers board a flight from Bali to Adelaide overnight who had taken other passengers' seats and refused to move to their allocated seats.

"The passengers refused to follow numerous requests from our crew so the captain decided that they would not travel on that flight.

"Like all airlines, our customers are allocated specific seats and we can't have a situation where passengers sit wherever they like. This causes disruptions to other customers and delays the flight departing."

The two families got on a plane home the next day - but not before forking out for an extra night's stay in Bali - that can't have been cheap!

This comes hot on the heels of another airline scandal. Late last year, YouTube prankster Adam Saleh claimed he was kicked off a Delta flight for speaking Arabic on the phone to his mum.

Racial profiling is wrong and people were upset about Delta's reportedly racist actions - but then it got called into question. Was the notorious liar and prankster telling the truth?

Even in the video Adam posted a disgruntled passenger can be clearly seen saying: "This is bullshit" about Adam's claims and people are waving goodbye at him. They're clearly glad to see him go.

Someone on the flight went to Reddit to tell the truth.

"The YouTube guy was trying to get his friend to shout something in Arabic, which he did a total of four times.

"He shouted it across the plane and the first two times I thought he was shouting maybe a friend or something. A couple of passengers after the second time said they were making themselves and their young children uncomfortable and could they shut up.

"They told her to shut up and then he shouted it again.

"They were filming people's reactions on their phones, I assume for some comedy YouTube video but they were made to delete it."

I think that counts as pretty disruptive behaviour, Adam. Jog on mate.
