Liam Gallagher Adidas Spezial Trainers: Where To Buy And Price - Adidas Waiting Room, The Hip Store
The Adidas logo and 90s fashion go hand in hand, so it's no surprise that Liam Gallagher has collaborated with the iconic brand to create some of the most sought-after trainers in recent memory. His Adidas Spezial trainers have been released today which coincides with Liam releasing his second solo album 'Why Me? Why Not' on September 20.
Liam has been seen sporting the trainers live on stage, along with his signature Adidas branded parka. It proves the legendary musician still has an eye for fashion despite his own brand, Pretty Green, going into administration earlier this year.
Known as the Adidas LG Spezial, Liam was over the moon as Spezial Director Gary Aspden handed him the shoes on a video posted on Instagram.
"I have known Liam for over 20 years and we have always got on. He is one of the people who has worn and supported what we do with Adidas Spezial since day one so this collaboration evolved organically," says Aspden.
In the video Liam, obviously elated said: "That is f***ing smart innit though man.
"Best looking motherf***** on the planet, best f***ing looking trainer on the f***ing planet."
According to Aspden, Liam was heavily involved in the design of the trainer, which was influenced by his own style, he said: "He liked the silhouette of the Padiham SPZL on the whole but said he wanted it to look neutral and understated. This shoe became foundation for the LG SPZ."
He continued: "We made a few tweaks to the upper pattern along with a different tongue - as anyone who is a fan of gum soled, suede Adidas trainers knows it is all about those subtle details. Liam gave comments on each sample until the final version which we held off on showing him until we presented them to him for the first time backstage at his gig in Hackney.
"We filmed that moment as we wanted to capture his honest reaction. Anyone who has worn the three stripes loyally for as long as he has will understand that excitement."
Speaking of his upcoming album release, Gallagher said in a statement: "I want the second album to be a step-up, because the hardest thing to do is to make something the same, only better. So that's what we've done. It's a better record than 'As You Were'. Which is saying something, as that was epic, wasn't it?"
Liam added: "Right ... here it is my Adidas LG SPZL collaboration. Absolute honor to have been asked to design and create such a Biblical trainer. Hope you like..LG x"
As you were.
