Before he got his big break, Sacha worked as a fashion model and hosted a weekly programme on Windsor cable television's local broadcasts in the early 1990s.

He already had a flair for creating characters, so sent a tape to Channel 4 as a fictional Albanian tv reporter called Kristo. This character would later become Borat. A producer from Channel 4 couldn't get enough of it, and before long Cohen was appearing as Ali G on shows throughout the late 90s.
Before he became a household name, he also had a small role in an advert for McCain Microchips where he played a chef.
Ali G was so well received that he got his own show called Da Ali G Show where Cohen would interview celebrities, politicians, and other public figures who often didn't know that Ali G was a fictional character.

Sacha Baron Cohen really became a household name in 2006 when he reprised the role of Borat for the film Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. The film was a hit worldwide and won Cohen a 2007 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy. He then made two more films with larger than life characters, Bruno and The Dictator. More recently Cohen is starring in the new Netflix series The Spy. He is playing the role of an Israeli clerk-turned-secret agent who goes deep undercover inside Syria on a perilous, years-long mission.
