People Have Been Coming Up With Conspiracies On Why Chris Brown Was Arrested

What do you think has happened?

Yesterday Chris Brown was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, following an incident where he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman in his Los Angeles home.

During a standoff with cops, Brown posted a video to Instagram claiming there was a conspiracy by police to arrest him.

"I'm way too tired to be dealing with this bullshit," Brown said while police were securing a warrant to enter his home. "Every three months y'all come up with something, bro. What is it? What's gonna be next? ... I'm innocent, fuck everybody. I'm tired of hearing this shit."

Brown has since been released on a $250,000 bail, with a police investigation underway in relation to the incident.

Now a number of theories have been put about claiming that the incident was a 'setup'.

Mark Geragos, Brown's attorney, has claimed that Baylee Curran - the woman Brown is accused of pulling the gun on - is simply doing it to make money from Brown.

He claims this is supported by Curran allegedly having a criminal history and her making a number of media appearances on the day of the alleged incident.

"Unfortunately, for a lot of these guys who have kind of this wealth and celebrity at a very early age, they become targets, and so it would not surprise me," Geragos has said regarding Brown on his Reasonable Doubt podcast. "I can think back to a case he had in Vegas - same thing, that he was the target, somebody was making false accusations - we were able to prove it. So I'm always reticent to rush to any kind of conclusion until I do some kind of investigation."

Another theory being put about is that Brown's arrest is part of an elaborate scheme by Curran and Nia Guzman, the mother of Brown's daughter Royalty, to secure full custody of the child, in order to increase his child support payments.

Shortly after Brown was arrested, Guzman's attorney made a statement to E! News that two-year-old Royalty was present during the alleged assault. However, Brown's attorney has denied that Royalty was in the home during the time of the incident, calling the claim "categorically untrue."

People on Twitter have also come up with some theories too...

With all this said, Chris Brown is a man with a history of violence against women, including having been convicted for assaulting his then girlfriend Rihanna. Brown was sentenced to five years of probation, one year of domestic violence counselling, and six months of community service for his crime.

Brown was also arrested for felony assault in Washington D.C when two women wanted to take a picture with him. Two men saw Brown and attempted to join them in the photo. Brown then allegedly said, "I'm not into this gay shit, I'm into boxing," and he and his bodyguard threw punches at one of the men, something he was later sued over.

Nobody actually knows until the facts emerge and police finish their investigation.
