The nation was left in tears today, after Gogglebox's June Bernicoff appeared on ITV's This Morning to speak about her late husband, the cheeky and loveable Leon Bernicoff.

Appearing on the sofa beside Eamonn and Ruth, June spoke about her new book, which speaks about her admirable marriage of 63 years.

The book comes after Gogglebox viewers were left heartbroken after hearing that the loveable Scouse grandad had very sadly passed away at the age of 83.

Speaking on the sofa, June told Eamonn and Ruth about how she met the man who would become her husband at just 18 years old, after a 21-year-old Leon had returned home from his time in the forces.

She went on to describe what first attracted her to her beloved husband of over six decades, leaving viewers with a nagging ache in the feels.

"It was instant attraction. I can remember the voice - the deep, throaty voice - and the cheeky grin," she said.

Eamonn then asked June how she had been coping in the nine months since Leon's death, to which she replied: "Fortunately I've been very busy because I was approached to write the book. That's been wonderful because it's given me a purpose - and it's allowed me to set aside moments to write each day.

"At first it was just the sadness and you just remember the last few days when he was really ill.

"But then going back and remembering the fun we had... I can't remember life without him, not really."

Eamonn went on to read out the book's dedication. No, honestly, I've just got something in my eye. It's dusty in here, I think.

The dedication reads: "Leon. My husband, my best friend, my soul mate and sparring partner. You shared my innermost secrets and taught me to live every day to the full."

*sniff*

After the segment, Gogglebox fans everywhere took to Twitter to share their sadness and express their love for Leon.
