Bodybuilder Dallas McCarver Has Died After Apparently Choking On His Food

Dallas 'Big Country' McCarver has reportedly choked to death while making dinner in the US state of Florida. The bodybuilder's girlfriend, WWE superstar Dana Brooke, told TMZ the 26-year-old was found unconscious at his home by a friend.

The popular muscle man posted a video to Instagram just hours before his death, showing him chest pressing some very heavy dumbbells.

He captioned the video saying: "Could've been a little slower and better under control wth these 160s today... but sometimes you've just got to let the intensity flow. Great chest day."

The news of his death has already spread fast on social media, with many paying their respects to the young bodybuilder.

One of Dallas's self-described mentors, Dexter 'The Blade' Jackson, also paid tribute to Dallas on Instagram, writing: "One of the saddest days ever for me. Dallas McCarver has passed! It hurts me so much because I was like a mentor to this young dude.

"I loved this dude!! He was one of the realest for sure!! He would always call me Papa and I would say, 'I ain't your dad! Don't call me that!' R.I.P my brother! I love you Dallas!"

Dallas collapsed on stage earlier this year at the 2017 Arnold Classic Australia and had to drop out of the competition.

According to Generation Iron, Dallas later confirmed that he was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. It's unclear whether that had anything to do with his untimely and sudden death.

Brooke has told TMZ that she wants Dallas' fans to 'stay strong' because 'that's what he would want'.

RIP Dallas McCarver.
