Apparently he ended up at a house party.

Shy and retiring MMA star Conor McGregor visited Liverpool for the Grand National this weekend, but it seems like he's in no hurry to go home after spending a wild few days in the city, ending up in a house party in Huyton.

McGregor flew into Liverpool in his private jet on Saturday before him and his entourage drove into the city centre in a small convoy of Rolls Royces. Of course he did.

He also turned a few heads at Aintree racecourse when he turned up dressed like this:

Those flip-down sunglasses are a thing of beauty.

Still, at least it gave the photographers something better to do than try to take photos of drunken women, eh?

After a day in the sunshine at Aintree, McGregor made a public appearance at Mansion nightclub later that evening. While there he threw around a bunch of fake notes with his face on, because he's Conor McGregor.

On his second night in the city, he ventured out to another nightclub, still wearing sunglasses despite the lack of sun at 11.30pm, the Liverpool Echo reports.

But the sesh didn't end there, oh no, no. Because he apparently ended up going to a house party in Huyton. At first it was believed to just be rumours but then McGregor himself took to social media to share a snap of himself, still very much on the Mersey and standing on a car with the caption: 'Liverpool we run your entire city'.

As a Liverpool resident, I can tell you that I'm more than OK with this. He would probably do a better job than the current mayor.

The snap of him standing atop an expensive car currently has 377,000 likes on Instagram, but not all Scousers are as pleased with me at the thought of a McGregor-run city.

One wrote: "Mate you couldn't even run Birkenhead". For those who don't live in the north west, let me tell you, that is a pretty strong insult.

It's not known if he's venturing back home yet or not, but as his partner Dee Devlin is due to give birth any day now, it seems like it might be a good idea.
