David Cameron Gets Abuse After Jumping On Welsh Euros Bandwagon

Bet he wasn't supporting them at the start.

Soon to be former Prime Minister David Cameron has faced a backlash from Welsh fans after congratulating them for their victory over Belgium last night.

The Red Dragon's performance at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille last night saw them beat the Belgians 3-1.

Before the game David Cameron tweeted this...

Then afterwards, like a load of other Englishmen, he continued to jump on the Welsh band-wagon - acting as though he'd been supporting them all tournament.

After the win, he sent this Tweet that ends 'bring on Portugal!'...

But Wales fans had a message to send back to him - do one, son.

Here's some of the responses...

This guy made the overall point more concisely than most...

David Cameron announced he would be resigning as Prime Minister after Britain voted to leave the European Union, he will officially step down later this year.

Welsh voters backed Brexit, with 854,572 (52.5%) voters in Wales chosing to leave the EU, compared with 772,347 (47.5%) supporting Remain.

Given that the Welsh were partly responsible for him losing his job, it's hard to imagine he's got too much love for the county.

Although to be fair to him, he is the Prime Minister and he probably should be supporting all the countries he's meant to represent.

What do you think then lads - should he be cheering on the Welsh in the semis, or is he just another English bandwagoner?
