Last night, Jon Jones knocked out Daniel Cormier with a head kick in the third round of their fight at UFC 214.

Following the fight, UFC announcer Joe Rogan interviewed a concussed Cormier, who became emotional as it was the first time he had been knocked out in the octagon.

Watch it here:

Rogan has now apologised on Twitter for interviewing Cormier while he was injured and clearly having a tough time.

He wrote: My apologies to [Daniel Cormier] and to all of you upset by my interviewing him after the fight. In all honestly I was kind of in shock.

"I don't think I realized what I was doing until I actually had a mic in front of him. I've said I don't want to interview KO'ed fighters.

"And then I wound up doing it to someone I care a great deal about. D.C. Is a great man and the whole thing was surreal.

"I was beating myself up about it all last night. It'll never happen again. My apologies to D.C. And to all of you.

"Again, no one asked me to do it. It was 100% my fuck up. Like I said, I was kind of in shock."

Users on Twitter applauded Rogan for his honesty:

Fair play to him for owning up and apologising for his mistake, it takes a true LAD to do that.
