Student Posts Reward For Return Of Fake Hand After Wild Night Out

Student Posts Reward For Return Of Fake Hand After Wild Night Out

Not your typical thing to lose on a night out.

Did Luke Skywalker ever lose his fake hand? No he didn't because he was the best and the last of all the Jedis. What chance would all the furry ewoks have stood if Luke had misplaced his hand and as a result couldn't fight his father and make a last stand against the Empire? Boy there would have been so many needless deaths.

Student Amelia Welch is not Luke Skywalker, nor is she a Jedi. She is just a student who loves big nights out.

The 20-year-old lost her prosthetic hand while on a night out in Devon. What does a 'night out' in Devon entail? Enjoying gallons of clotted cream ice cream while tanning tinnies on a dirty windswept beach?

Nah, that's all stereotypes. Some of the nightlife isn't too bad. She left the £3000 hand in a nightclub toilet at Oceana in Plymouth, but did not realise she'd misplaced it until the morning after.

Not familiar with Oceana? It's essentially where men in bootcut jeans with wet-look gel in their hair go to start fights while Avicii songs play in the background.

Amelia, who was born with a congenital hand malformation, is now terrified that someone may have thought it was a joke and thrown it away.

A reward of £100 has now been offered for its safe return.

"I don't know at what point I lost it, but I didn't have it the next day," Amelia said. "I think I went to the toilet, took it off, probably left it and didn't realise.

"It's an aesthetic thing. There are not many things I struggle with, but the prosthetic gives me confidence and it's really expensive."

So far she has contacted both the club and the police but she's had no luck in finding the missing hand.

Hopefully she can find it soon.
