Where Is The Sleaziest City In England And Wales?

Have you ever wondered where the 'sleaziest' place in the UK is? I bet you have. Someone over at the Mirror did, so they decided to do a bit of research.

The report is classing 'sleaziness' as the number of sex establishments (sex shops, dirty cinemas etc.) per capita.

You may or may not (definitely not) be surprised to learn that Westminster, home to sexy Soho, tops the list, with 30 sex establishments, meaning that there's one for every 8,077 people.

Good ol' Blackpool, where I used to go on days out with my parents as a child, was second. It has six, one for every 23,263 people and Newcastle was in third place with 12, meaning there's a sex establishment for every 24,407.

My home city of Liverpool came in a disappointing 13th place. It has 12, one for every 39,882 residents.

Across England and Wales there are currently 391 licensed sex establishments.

Here's the top 20:

  1. Westminster has 30 or one for every 8,077 residents
  2. Blackpool has six or one for every 23,263 residents
  3. Newcastle upon Tyne has 12 or one for every 24,407 residents
