Check Out Barack Obama's First Tweet Since Becoming A Civilian Again

Classic dad joke included.

He may have once been the leader of the free world and the most powerful man on the planet, but first and foremost, Barack Obama is a dad and that's never been more evident than in his first tweet now he's back to life as a civvy:

Classic dad banter. Well done, Barry.

His last Tweet from the @POTUS account, which has now been archived and become @POTUS44, was slightly less-banterful but maybe a bit more inspiring:

Meanwhile, what was my very favourite tweeter, Pres Trump up to with his account?

Well, in classic Trump-on-Twitter style, he was over there fucking up.

Taking over the @POTUS account, people eagerly awaited his first tweet as President, while they were waiting, though, the background image changed to a shot of people waving little stars and stripes. All very patriotic, all very lovely.

Except, as some eagle-eyed tweeters spotted the image he chose was actually from Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.

Jesus Christ, this is like Melania's speech all over again.

The image stayed up there for about an hour, as people called him out for trying to make his inauguration seem busier and bigger than it was, until it was replaced by a nice stock image of an American flag.

Before being replaced again to this sort of out of focus picture of Trump looking out on to the lawn at the White House.

What makes it all the more embarrassing is Trump's claim that his inauguration would be 'an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout', which it certainly didn't seem to be.

I wonder if they're actually going to allow Donald Trump to run the @POTUS account? He has come in for a bit of stick in the past, for wiping millions of dollars off the share prices of companies; making funny typos and momentarily forgetting in his own daughter's Twitter handle.

I personally love finding out what he's going to be tweeting, but I can see how some of his staff may be slightly worried about what he's going to come out with next, what do you guys think?

Oh and if you're interested this was his first official tweet as President of the United States of America:

And, slightly different because he didn't have an official account when he was inaugurated, but here's Obama's:
