A female comedian has taken to Twitter to blast a 'creepy' promoter after discovering that he rejected her professional headshots and instead trawled social media for inappropriate photos to use.

In a post simply titled 'What's It Like Being a Female Comedian?', humourist Alice Hamilton shared a screenshot of a conversation between her and the unnamed promoter, in which she slams his unprofessional attitude and announces that she is withdrawing from an upcoming show after he replaced her promo photos with candid snaps from Instagram without her permission.

"Hey man, I'm dropping out from the show on Saturday because I think it's really weird and rude that you asked me for a headshot, I sent you one, and then you refused to use it." The message reads.

"Instead, you went through my Instagram photos and picked the picture of me with the most cleavage. Makes me worry that if I went to your show I'd have to keep an eye on my drink the whole time, y'know?" She added.

"Shit is creepy. In the future, please treat the female comedians you book with more respect. This type of shit is just uncomfortable. Be well."

Blunt, but the point. This sort of thing is completely unacceptable under any circumstances, but after Alice later shared a side-by-side photo of the two pictures in question- one of which is a professional-looking headshot whereas the other is a heavily-filtered screengrab from snapchat featuring a gratuitous amount of cleavage- the extent to which she'd been done dirty by the unscrupulous promoter became clear for all to see.

Thankfully the response to her post was overwhelmingly positive, with many applauding her courage and conviction in speaking up about such everyday sexism.

"There's no way they can try to twist this," One user commented. "The quality of the one you sent was better. The only difference is the flowers and cleavage, and I highly doubt they wanted flower filters for some reason. So glad you stood up to them."

"But even if they tried to twist it, the one she sent is waaay more presentable business wise," another poster chimed in to agree. "Not knocking the second one because she is very beautiful in both BUT when talking business the one she sent is perfect. You don't use a filter for work. That's just creepy af of them."

A third added that "The first picture is the kind I would expect to see on a promotional poster for an event. Honestly idk why someone would choose the second one it's just so unprofessional. Probably dodged a bullet not going to the event."
