Funeral Directors Warn Mourners About Face Swapping With Dead Relatives

Funeral Directors Warn Mourners About Face Swapping With Dead Relatives

Understandable.

Any funeral is a tough time for anyone. Saying goodbye to a family member, giving your last regards and looking back over their life to really appreciate it.

Some people have ways to diffuse the sadness of the situation, though. For example once at the wake there'll always be at least one person, usually an uncle who everybody can't really stand, stood in the corner chatting shit after one too many pints because he thinks it's a suitable time to get pissed.

The whole post-cremation-intoxication thing is a dying art, given that there's technology to incorporate into the ceremonies.

Funeral directors have warned mourners against the use of phones now, after some deeply disturbing face swaps.

Face swaps are generally quite funny - there was that one with the girl swapping her face with her mate's boob, which is a barrel of laughs - but doing it with your dead granddad is a bit far.

"In many funeral parlours we have very clear rules around limiting selfies or we tell the public that the families don't want selfies," Dennis Desrochers told Radio Canada. "There won't be a 'selfie police [though]."

In fairness, if someone wants one last attempt at a profile picture with a loved one then maybe we should respect that. Then again, if you saw a dead geezer in your timeline you wouldn't really enjoy it.

Previously this girl had come under fire for her Snapchat antics at her grandfather's funeral. The app has given us the opportunity to share just about any situation we find ourselves in, and there's an emoji to go with most of those scenarios. This still doesn't make it totally normal to Snapchat your granddad's funeral with a coffin emoji.

Francia Fierros Palomino, from Mexico, took the opportunity to flaunt her makeup, clothes and sun glasses in a 'sensual pose' with her granddad's coffin in the background. Mourners can also be seen in the picture, saying their goodbyes.

The girl also posted a mirror selfie on Facebook, which made it look like she had been out for afternoon tea with her mum, with the caption "Coming back from the funeral, Rest in Peace granddad." Luckily she put location filters on both of her snaps, just so people knew where she was.

As you'd expect Francia is a serial selfie taker, usually sharing the same type of pictures in a less morbid setting. People were quick to criticise her, claiming that her granddad was better off in his coffin, rather than witnessing his granddaughter do this - bit harsh.

Now people on social media have reportedly labelled her 'LadyFuneral' which by all accounts is a terrible nickname to have.

All-in-all, just sack off using phones at a funeral.
