Horrifying Moment Rottweiler Attacks Three-Year-Old Boy

Shocking footage of a dog attacking a three-year-old as he plays in his garden has been captured on CCTV.

Marco Slabbert from South Africa was outside his house when the Rottweiler jumped and knocked him to the ground and then went on to bite him on his arms and legs.

Little Marco can be seen kicking and trying to get away. The dog eventually stops when a woman runs out and pushes it away.

The child was taken to hospital with head and hand injuries, and was released the following day.

Marco's dad and the dog's owner, Francois, shot the dog, the Daily Mail reports.

Francois has since faced criticism online for killing his dog, with many saying that it wasn't up to him and that he should have got an animal welfare organisation involved.

The dad has spoken out, saying that his actions weren't out of revenge or anger but simply to keep people safe.

"Nobody knows if the Rottweiler would have attacked someone again. When a dog has attacked someone the chances are good that he will do it again," he said.

Marco has made a full recovery and is back at home with his family.
