This is so sad.

A heartbreaking video of two kids attempting to wake their parents who have overdosed on heroin has gone viral.

The young boy and girl, accompanied by an adult, are shouting at their parents and telling them to get up as they lie, slumped and drenched in sweat in front of the TV.

The adults resemble zombies as the kids repeatedly call out 'Ma' and 'Dad', but get no reaction.

Eventually, the mum reacts when someone shines a light in her eyes, but she quickly passes out again.

The adult can be heard saying: "You can't be like this around your kids. That's not cool."

This is just the latest in a long line of videos depicting heroin abuse in the US as the country battle with a serious drug problem.

Last week, a man was recorded laughing as he livestreamed a couple overdosing on heroin in the street - the clip has had more than three million views.
