A Man Practices Handstands On A Cliff Edge - Can You Guess What Happened Next?

A Man Practices Handstands On A Cliff Edge - Can You Guess What Happened Next?

An absolutely ridiculous video.

A Chinese man who fell off a cliff while posing for a photo was lucky to escape with his life.

Video footage shows him hanging off the cliff to get the perfect photo on the Jigong mountain in the municipality of Chongqing, southwest China.

In the video, a man in a green shirt is seen standing on his hands on a rock on the cliff. He then switches positions to leave himself hanging off the cliff with his bare hands, only to lose his grip and tumble over the edge.

The Chinese man, surnamed Du, said he was hiking with a group of friends back in March when the footage was captured, according to Chongqing Evening News.

Du had practiced free climbing for more than four years before the incident and walked away only with bruises and cuts on his arms and hands.

This isn't the only person we've featured on LADbible after they made a daring bid for a Darwin award. Last year footage emerged that showed how an amateur base jumper's life was saved at the last second, after he failed to attach his leg straps - a key part of the safety equipment in the extreme sport.

Leg straps prevent jumpers from accidentally slipping out of the parachute harness in the sport, which sees people parachuting or wingsuit flying from bridges and cliffs.

Professional instructor Chris McDougall spotted the man's error as he was about to fall from a bridge. Luckily he was able to grab him and get him back to safety just seconds before he jumped.

Shockingly, despite having been warned not to jump again by Chris, the unknown man ignores his advice and after correctly attaching his equipment jumps off the bridge.

On his YouTube page, Chris wrote: "How this can happen I do not know but I hope this video will raise awareness to how important it is to pay attention to detail when base jumping.

"So many new jumpers come into this sport thinking it is all about Go Pro's and social media and they forget the fundamentals of how serious and dangerous this sport can be if respect is not given to every aspect of it.

"I am glad I saved someone's life but each jumper must have the ability to save their own on each and every jump."
