The people of the Scottish Highlands are thought to be furious tonight, as it has emerged the Loch Ness monster has vacated the waters it is said to have swam in for yonks and headed for Alaska.

Craig McCaa, who works for the Bureau of Land Management in Alaska, claims to have been taking pictures of the Chena River last week when he spotted a 15-foot long object in the water that looked suspiciously like Nessie.

He posted the video to Facebook where it has racked up over a quarter of a million views.

You can watch the video here and it is genuinely better than most of them out there...

"I initially thought, and several people thought, it could be some rope that snagged on the bottom of the river with chunks of ice," McCaa told the Alaska Dispatch News. "Other people have mentioned everything from sea monster to giant sturgeon."

Just in case you're wondering, the average temperature in Alaska is 3°C, with temperatures dropping far lower in winter.

Scotland? Alaska? Come on Nessie mate, why don't you get your arse down to a beach in Miami to drink cocktails and play some volleyball: if you're going to move, why not make it somewhere a bit warmer?

TheLADbible reached out to Loch Ness monster for a response on its move, but we are yet to hear back.
