As the rest of the world paid their respects on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, some conspiracy enthusiasts were coming up with yet another bizarre theory.
This time it also involves the current conspiracy theorists' favourite, Vladimir Putin. The latest claim is that the Russian president has collected a dossier of evidence that proves the US government were behind the attacks.
Of course, this is hardly the first time that we've heard that the George Bush's administration was behind the atrocity ('jet fuel can't melt steel beams') but there's yet to be any solid proof to show that it wasn't terrorist group al-Qaida.
However, now a Russian political website is claiming that Vlad is set to release some 'authoritative evidence' which will prove that the US government were involved.
According to the Star, the article states: ""Russia is preparing the release of evidence of the involvement of the US government and intelligence services in the September 11 attacks. The list of evidence includes satellite images.
"The attack was planned by the US government, but exercised using her proxy, so that an attack on America and the people of the United States looked like an act of aggression by international terrorist organisations."
Sceptics are criticising the claims, because in the past, Putin has said that it would have been impossible to carry out an inside job such as 9/11.
